I emailed them not as me but as my employer( point of contact mentioned in the labor petition) and it works they send me a copy of the labor approval to my house along with a copy to my employer and one to my attroney. It really works.

Just as you took initiative to post this message...Start a Poll of who are willing to Join you with this initiative--Of Donating to IV,with this one-point agenda.
Once you have 5-10 people behind you and you look serious enough, IV can guide you with your initiative. As you might know already that there are no full-time employees in IV to pickup requests.
I totally understand that you would want to "part" with money only with some kind of promise. That's totally normal. But, just to get your 'Donation', IV or any member will/can not make any false promises.
After I-140 approval if we are allowed to file 485 that will give us big relief, Willing to contribute big time if IV can make this part of its agenda

Instead of hiring a full time lobbyist why dont we hire a full time manager who will contact IV members and drive funding drives , organize campaigns , send and spam USCIS with emails flowers and faxes and keep it moving. Heck may be we can even offshore and outsource it. Take a look at YourManInIndia (http://www.yourmaninindia.com/) . At 7$ per hour this wont take much. Lets take the help of our brothers and sisters in Inda to get GC .. let them help us while we help them..

Preparing for future is one thing but if you think that this is a valuable thread then go with it and enjoy, i just find it disheartening that people are trying to undermine whatever has been achieved by such threads (Like i said, he might be completely right but is there a need to tell it this way) and what are you going to prepare for the future ;) Do you know it ? (If you do, please keep it to yourself and enjoy or cry about it). Right now, i want to be positive and enjoy the fruits of what IV has done to get some relief, why use negative logic to undermine it and that is what i am saying. Just called offices of the following senators, spoke with the assistants, explained my position and left a message. Most of them have no position yet till more details about the legislation comes in. As details unfold in nearby future, I will actually try to go meet my local senators - they are key for this legislation. Last yr, I had met my local congressman's assistant.

I have done some ground work and am planning to start a company this week - my wife as owner. I have couple of other friends who have filed 485 in June.
My goal for first couple of years is not to make profit but to increase turnover so it would be easier for me to present the company to big corporations and register as preferred vendor. I am planning to pay 96% of the rate to the employee. This way employee will get most of his / her rate without getting into opening their own corporation. At present I am working with attorney to finalize agreement with employee for this.

Just refinanced with Chase. I have a pending I-485 and am on EAD. They just asked for all the paper work and it was a non issue. I think you just have a crappy lender.

More than 4 years ago when I started the process I really was looking forward to getting a GC and eventually citizenship. But a lot has changed in the last 4 years. GC process has become much harder (after 4 years I am yet to file for 140 and 485). At the same time the economy back home is booming. So the financial incentive to go thru the long process is really going down by the day.
More than the financial factor, I have gradually started realizing that no matter how many friends I make here its never the same as having a large family network that provides for social stability for each family. Also, I have started observing aging indian couples in US who came in 60's and 70's. They look pretty lonely and sad. I guess the question I am asking myself today is, is finanical success today worth the social loss I will face once I retire?
PS: Does anyone know how to turn a thread into a poll?
