I am planning to call PBEC for my case. My recruitment was completed early this month but the lawyers haven't received a recruitment report instruction letter. I want to request them to at least send the letter since everything else is ready. Did anyone have any luck calling on their own? Or do they only want to speak with employer/attorney?
Although, filing 485 now doesn't seem possible in this narrow time frame... still want to give it a last shot.

please guys just write as many as you can...as i pm'ed pappu...my piece was touchy feely, because i wanted it that way. He suggested some additions to add contributions of immigrants/details of retrogression but I declined cos i felt the touchy feeliness (so to speak) would be diluted.

IV Core,
What is IV's position on ammendents for people who have filed PERM only and have not filed I-140 yet.
There shall be an ammendement which allows these people to keep using old system(EB) to get their green card.
It is totally un-fair to null and void their application and get them into new point based systems and force them to face long delays.
Please let us know.

I dont understand your H4 expiry date shoud be tied to your husbands H1 date. So if your DL expires then automatically his DL should also have expired.

I'm a desperate house spouse(H4) and now not only I can't work but I can't drive either because the current visa expires on May 10 and the new extension is not here yet. The folks at DMV didn't wanna give an extension for the DL unless I bring a new I 94. Now the poor H1 has to do 2 jobs
1. work his but off at work to get GC
2. drive the kids up and down, do the shopping, etc etc because the desperate h4 can't move a finger.
Anyone in the same barrel?

Thank you! I have sent them my I-140 and 485 and also past and present EADs to show that this is something that needs to be renewed every 2 years.

It was better for them to work 1 weekend 24/7 (nonstop) rather than working everyday for 8 hours (which is what our application may have caused them to do)

Pankaj, the writeup is spot on except for the above. I am not sure it takes anyone in the EB category, 20 years to get the GC. It may happen in the future if retrogression is not fixed.
IMHO, it is important that we stick to facts when we write articles/op eds etc.
You make a good point. However, since I have mentioned both EB and FB in the article, I think it is appropriate to include that it can in fact take 20 years to get the GC. The Senate bill does have provisions to ameliorate both EB and FB backlogs, as far as I remember.

So basically if this becomes law..Iam screwed..I am in my 30 day waiting period to file for my Labor in Jul-07 & want to get a 7th year extention in June-08. Am I reading it right?

Eating away from the regular Quota does not make sense to me, all the people who get the visas after the end of quota will not count for next year. Assuming this is true the number of required visas goes down for next year? Which may be partially good news.
