I have been in H-1B status for 4+ years. This year, I started attending full time college and had applied for transfer of status from H-1B to F-1. However, my application is still pending with USCIS. Since I need to travel home urgently, I was wondering what steps should I take before leaving so that my status is not affected. Because if I travel abroad, I will be applying for new F-1 at a US consulate, do I need to cancel my application with USCIS here before leaving? Are there any consequences of keeping my application pending here.

Hello Everybody. I am new to IV. Recently I have filed my wife's I-485 (06/28) after my I-485 approval on 06/18. My lawyer said that he has filed it by using the "Follow to join" benefits. He is saying that he cannot guarantee that USCIS will accept the I-485 since my I-485 is already approved. He said that we just have to wait and see until the receipt notice is issued.
Is anybody else in similar situation? Also does any one know what kind of documentation and cover letter needs to be included for this kind of case? I have asked him if he has included the I-485 approval notice and he said "No".

my visa , H1b expired, but have applied for H1b extension pending since Mar 2007, but i think as long as we are in legal status inside the country it should be fine - my 2 cents.

Expression Blend can be used if you are creating an application that uses XAML for the visuals such as one created in WPF or Silverlight. The logic can be done in C#. Therefore, the answer to your question is "BOTH - if you are planning on building your application in WPF or Silverlight".

I used to fedex EAD and AP applications etc to this Augustine Road address before. After introducing lock boxes, they changes the fedex address too.I am planning to submit AC21. 1) My company announced that it was acquired by another company and the deal will be closed in early 2008.
My I140 priority date is Sept 21,2007 in EB2 in Texas SC. What should I be doing assuming my I140 will be approved in 6 months time, ie March 2008.
2)Also, my company is a Federal contractor working with the Federal organisation. All employees working for this contractor will always work for this Federal organisation no matter who the contractor is.In other words, the client remains same, but contractor changes.So if this Federal organisation gives this contract to any other comapny other than I am working with, how will my I140 processing be affected.

I work for a big company. Each time when I move to a new project, my company ask me to file an LCA and H-1B amendment for new project location. It takes several month to get approval until then you have wait and face all travel restrictions.
I know that several smaller companies don�t file such amendments
Does anyone who why do we have to file such amendment?

I have an approved I-140 and have a pending I-485 filed with NSC, received date 15 Aug 07. NSC I-485 processing date was moved up to Aug 15 a few days ago.
Was wondering if anyone else with similar received dates got an approval or some form of reply from NSC?

I have approved I140 (EB3, PD:Nov'04) from previous employer; after getting my MBA (Jun'06), I have changed the job and my job description has also changed. New employer will file the labor after 3 months (HR Policy)..I have good relations with previous employer, they are ready to file I485. Is it possible to file I485(previous employer), while I am working with new employer?
I am not sure but I came to know (not reliable source), that it is possible to file I485(previous employer) and during the interview, I can submit a support letter from the new employer. is this correct?
Requesting your help..so near...but so far!!!!!
