This might be just a way from DOS to USCIS to say bring their house in order... do not advance dates until you know the what the accurate demand is.....

In my opinion, the most likely reason why EB2 India dates have been advanced to June 2006 is to help consular posts. CP filers can get their interviews now.
IMO, This along with the max utilization of ideal 100% is what DOS got at by moving EB2 to 06/01/2006.
It appears like DOS wants to get each and every visa number allocated and given how USCIS have their files across the country, moving it well beyond gives USCIS a chance to pick the files that are handy.
In other words, Some on with Jan 06 PD can get out if their file is handy. Some one with Jan 04 (there are still who dont have a GC with 03 and 034 PD's) might still be waiting come dec 08., if their file is rotting some where.

Usually shusterman.com is very reliable source for the immigration related news, but i still cant believe that Shusterman received call from Hillary Cinton (Secretory of State). Shusterman is the ex-USCIS (legacy INS) attorney, but that doesnt mean he knows Hillary Clinton personally...unless he is her campaign chair or so in California while she was running against Obama in the Democratic primary race for the US president.
So either this is his plot to garner more subscribers for his website or some kind of news thro' AILA ,but he mentions it as a news from Hillary.
If this information stands true then EB3-I will be U for rest of the year.
It looks like majority of skilled indians who were in the US around April 2001 end up using the 245(i) provision and use the Bush amnesty. Else their is no other logic that the dates are not moving further to OCt 2001 for EB3-India.
Another reason could be the flood of H1Bs during the period of 2001 to 2004, labor substitution practices allowed until the July 2007.
Most of those labors came out of backlong centre prior to July 2007 and folks were able to file their I-140 and I-485 concurrent during July 2007 visagate.
Labor certification was pending 4 years in BeC and now who knows how many more years in the PD retrogression. Due to current economic conditions, dont see any ray of hope to change the plight of EB-3 india.
Obama gave some hopes during his campaign, but looks like politicians surrounding him will not let him do anything good for legal immigrants. I think the biggest lesson for you will come in through this thread itself. You may find, after all, its not that easy to motivate people to take action, much less form a coherent strategy and run with it.
My guess is in the end you will come out cursing not just the core but all IV members for them lacking or something, because they can't get on board with your idea.

You change that to "political", and amount of effort (time and money) people will contribute will fizzle out before you can have your post election party!
My suggestion: Open a parallel organzation. Learn what it takes to get people on board with your agenda. if you DELIVER SOMETHING, people will automatically follow you.
Funds will follow if people see viability. Anywaz nothing is coming out of lobbying efforts so currently how does it even matter ?

Not a single person on this thread criticizing will ever go back however much painful the greencard wait is. This is a ugly truth.
Life in USA is far better than India and will always be until India controls its population, curroption and poverty.
Unless india address issues of Population Growth ( now it is hard to walk in many places in big cities), Morality of the Peoples (govt can not do any thing about this, we as a people always take shortcuts aslong as it does not affect us personally !!!) Broken Judicial system ( Recent statement of supreme court tells they have enough court case to deal per judge for next few decades !!) Purity of air, water,milk, Increasing corruption and detoriation in quality of education (because of priviatization we have engineering , pharmacy and other technical education colleges in every village, 95% of them dont have faculty, labs etc and only care for profit, you can graduate as long as you pay fee for admission and pay fee for their annual due) (that is why our 90% of engineers are UNEMLOYABLE) THERE ARE many other issues to list here but all we know
If you go to our home country for short visit, you will probably like it , if you stay there more than three months and try to settle there again, you will start comparing all above to US and might feel that you made wrong choice of abondoning your GC process
Also in money we make in some big cities in our home country we can not buy a decent home to live in as real estate prices are so INFLATED and there is no body which regulates real estate in India. Prices double evey day. I dont know how local middle class which hardly make 2-3 lac per year can afford such properties.
After living long time in other country, it will be hard to adjust with people there. You will always face morality issue, duplicity in the people (what they talk and what they act, it is hard to trust) also artificial and selfish nature of so called social relations in home country (of which all we are proud of some how ) I find people and social relation here more frank and trust worthy (they are more open and close to reality) then our social structure where evry one try to take advantage of other some how under the so called social relations
So think three time about all these issue of long term before you try to abondon your GC process. All these isssues you will be facing in our home country no matter how much money you make. On long term your choice might hurt you. If you are fed up with immigration issues here try to open up other avenues for you along with this country.

My H1 extension is under process. I had applied in Dec 2006. My DL expires on May 6. Is it possible to renew my license with the H1 extension receipt?. Is it possible to do Premium Processing now?
Pending H1 transfer/extension petitions can be upgraded to premium processing by sending another form (for upgrade to premium) and the premium fee of $1000.
Some states accept H1 extension filing receipt notice. Other states dont. Depends on the state regulation and state laws. You should check with your DMV / DPS of New Jersey and ask them before you make decision to upgrade your H1 petition to premium. Maybe they will renew your DL with receipt...so check before you spend that money.

This is what I think America loses due to delay in green card process. I can say this from my own experience. People with advanced degrees in Science and Technology have to keep doing same job to maintain status for 8 - 10 years since changing job / company reset's their GC process. When a guy comes to US for education the average age is around 23 - 24 years. MS completed by 25. Most guys at that time have burning desire to do something new and innovative (either in job or starting own business). But the most fortune 100 companies do not sponsor H1B or GC (Example Raytheon, Toyota, Lexmark .... based on my personal experience as electrical engineer) so you end up compromising with career to maintain status and work for companies that sponsor H1B ( future career prospects take a backseat). Then after 8 - 10 years when you get GC you already are married and possibly kids to look after you are already burnt out and want to keep working in the same desk/ clerical job that you have been doing for so many years. So its a lose lose situation to all neither government gains from the GC (by which they hope to make US a more innovative place) nor the immigrants since by then all they can think is a full time job, home and 401K.

Is that what the average Amrican wants us to do? Do they want us immigrants to be kept away from participating in innovation? Do they want us to keep working mundane jobs? Do they want us to lag behind them?

SriKondoji & I both being from the NE area we communicated through this thread possibility of car polling for DC and I received a call from him last thursday(Aug 9th) regarding this from some Ohio area code. So buddyinus I can at least assure you he was travelling at that time.

He mislead ppl on the other thread and ppl started booing him. But he was goin on and on and on...I just realised he was the one to start this thread too...Its already 6 days since Monday and this thread is still alive. Doz he even have any decency to acknowledge his mistakes. Admins...When somebody reads something like "June end and July 2nd filers receipts by monday" on ur homepage they get excited. This has been there since a long time . Every new process has its backes and the resisters . The president of the US resisted the telephone also when Edison invented it . Relax don't lose your sleep about it . Atlanta is backlogged due to the incompetence and heavy workload of workers there . nothing more , nothing less .

If the girl is working and earning money, she has all the rights to spend the way she wants, including giving money to her parents. If she is not working, then help should be based only on humanitarian basis because we never know when one's financial situation changes. I can't understand how any girl can force her husband to spend for her parents and siblings especially when she is not earning.

This is going to be the biggest problem because in US, we have a foundation for debt based economy (SSN, credit history, Credit score, credit ratings etc.) If you default the payment, you will have an effect and there will be an impact on future credit applications. There is nothing of this sort in India and the politicians will not allow such things to be setup as well. So essentially back to my point. Banks who lend money are at bigger risk of loosing it. There is nothing that they can do to report on consumer's default or fraud for that matter.
Now per say consumer dump the property or bank attaches it for non payment of loan amount, Bank will be stuck with properties worth 1/4th for those crores that they loaned to people, maintenance will cost them more to prepare it for sale.
In any account, there is a big problem ahead there.
